First I wanna start by saying that solar itself is a good investment for your home but before you decide to purchase any solar from ion, please do your research and the reason I am posting this is because I want to ensure that other homeowners see what I’ve had to go through within the last three years. I have never been so disappointed of a company, the lack of professionalism from both the representative and the installment team. After believing that the solar and the fencing around the solar were installed properly, turns out they weren’t. It turns out that the fencing around the solar was not installed correctly and when I called and complained about it and yes, I was really extremely frustrated. All I got told was that is not their problem and that is something that I need to take care of. Hear that I have to pay out-of-pocket for their mistake is extremely upsetting for the last few years I have spent more time cleaning up after bird waste in my backyard for the last three years, not knowing what the real issue was. A few weeks back, I started hearing birds on top of the house. My first assumption was that they were maybe on top of the solar it happens. They land there. But it got to the point where it was extreme, my husband and I called the pest exterminator (pigeons) and they showed me pictures of my roof that were extremely discomforting. Now I have to pay for an exterminator to clean my roof, take out all the dead birds that have been sitting on top of my roof and ensure that that waste gets cleaned and destroyed properly because ultimately that is a biohazard issue. I can get fined by the City because of this. So now I have to pay 2000+ dollars out of my own pocket to get my roof cleaned and took care of and not to mention. I have to ensure that I don’t get fined by the city in addition to that the solar company said that they won’t come out until my roof is clean. The fact that an Ion representative basically just told me that is my problem that’s not their responsibility. It’s frustrating to know because this is happening because of Ion installment teams mistakes and lack of professionalism. This job should’ve been done right the first time, so for future buyers when you have an installment team install your solar please take pictures because if not down the road you’re gonna have to pay more out-of-pocket to fix their mistakes. This is starting to affect the interior of my home to where I have to constantly be changing out the air filters to ensure I don’t have any bird feathers going into my house. I also tap to ensure that my family isn’t getting sick because of this issue. so I hope that this review which is only the tip of the iceberg helps family homeowners make the decision and not having them go through what I’ve been through

Kerry was personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. He arranged everything and was very patient with my never ending questions. He's a superb salesman!

The Ion Solar team were great to work with. It took a few months to get the ball rolling and the correct approvals, but once it was in place, the install team came out and set up all of my solar panels. It takes another month or so to get the local utility company to connect, which can be frustrating, but I've they did, Ion was great about coming back out to make sure all of the connections were working and syncing on the app. I've had them now for a little over a year and my electricity bill averages 0 dollars in the summer months and up to 30 dollars a month in the winter. (Keeping in mind that I pay a flat monthly fee of around 150 or so each month to pay off the solar panels... But that's half of what I was paying the utility company previously!... And the payment doesn't ever go up because I'm just paying off the solar panels.)
As a reference, I have about 23 panels on the south, East and Western facing sides of my roof... None on the north, and there are no trees in the way. Ion estimated that I would only price about 60 percent of my electric usage based off of my geographic location, so I've been thrilled that I'm producing almost 100 percent. You can also sell back some of your over production to the utility company for pennies on the dollar (optional).
I think the hardest part of the whole thing was waiting for everything to get hooked up and connected and the stress of not knowing how much energy we would produce. So far, so great! I got mine at the end of 2022, and they were connected and running by Feb of 2023. I got a tax credit incentive for installing them, which was an added bonus! I'm a very happy customer!

We are very pleased with our Ion Solar installation. We are now 2 years post-installation and have been running a power-surplus the entire time. Our initial meeting with Ion Solar staff provided all the information we needed/wanted. They left us with a handful of documentation, but more importantly they allowed us to have a thorough question/answer session that left us very satisfied with the next steps moving forward. They outlined each of the upcoming steps and the number of days in between - shipment arrival, panel installation, electrical hookup, and getting on the grid with net-metering. Everything happened almost exactly as they outlined. Net-metering allows us to make energy and give our surplus to the community and at the same time get credit for our electrical usage. Since installation, we have paid nothing to our local power company except the minimal cost of net-metering. It's 2 years later and we still get contacted by Ion Solar to ensure that we are happy with the service they provided. The initial installation cost was somewhat offset by a government rebate, but the initial financial hurdle is always guaranteed to pay itself off in time - especially when factoring in the expected increasing costs of energy. For those people with electric vehicles - there's the added bonus of not only running your house off of the power of the sun, but your car too. Ion Solar is saving the planet one household at a time! Good job team - keep up the good work!
